Avatar car from Mercedes-Benz

mercedes benz vision avtr concept

Mercedes has built an unusual concept car specifically for the consumer electronics exhibition CES-2020, traditionally held in Las Vegas at the very beginning of the year. This time, in addition to the slogans on duty about zero emissions and future autonomy, special attention was paid to the thematic component: the creators of the car were inspired by the famous science fiction film "Avatar". And the name of the concept unequivocally hints at this: VISION AVTR.

The device is equipped with four electric motors mounted in the body "near" the wheels. Thanks to this, the machine implements traction control, as in the most advanced all-wheel drive transmissions. The power of the power plant is declared at 350 kW. Both axles are steerable - the car can even move sideways.

The concept uses graphene batteries, and thanks to the new design, the Germans claim that these batteries can be recycled into 100% - thus not harming the environment at all. In addition, a record full charge time is announced - 15 minutes. Mileage on a single charge - up to 700 km.

The bionic component is another of the main elements of the concept. Firstly, the body is designed in the spirit of biodesign. Thanks to new technologies, all secondary energy consumers on board (sensors, screens, processors) are not connected to the main battery, but are powered by a whole complex of "bionic" movable solar panels located at the rear of the roof of the concept. The doors of the car open like the wings of the fantastic animal "ikran" from the movie "Avatar".

The salon is decorated with artificial materials created from recycled components. Inside, holographic projectors are installed, the image of which is transmitted to the glass of the car - thus creating the effect of augmented reality. The car can also interact with the driver and passengers at a tactile level: vibration panels are built into different areas of the cabin.
